Christopher Ankney’s first book of poems, Hearsay, won the Jean Feldman Prize at Washington Writers’ Publishing House and was subsequently finalist for the 2015 Ohioana Prize for Poetry.

His poems have appeared in journals such as Gulf Coast, Fourteen Hills, Hayden’s Ferry, Hunger Mountain, Linebreak, Prairie Schooner, and more. Links to his work can be found here.

Christopher grew up in Defiance, Ohio, at the confluence of the Maumee and Auglaize Rivers. He earned a B.A. in Creative Writing at Miami University in 2004 and a M.F.A. in Poetry at Columbia College Chicago in 2006.

He is currently a tenured Professor of English at College of Southern Maryland, and lives in Annapolis with his wife and sons.
